Nemzeti ünnep: Bastille bevétele: júl.14. - Kora februárban tartják a Moorea Marathon-t.
- Az első londoni misszionárius Point Venus-ba érkezéséről március 5-én emlékeznek meg Tahiti és Moorea protestáns templomaiban.
- A tahitiak szeretik a szépségversenyeket, nőknek és férfiaknak egyaránt szerveznek ilyeneket egész évben, ennek betetőzéseként tartják meg júliusban a rangos Miss Heiva i Tahiti versenyt, amely egy egész hónapig tart, zenei-, tánc- és sportversenyekkel és művészeti kiállításokkal fűszerezve. Az ünnep fénypontja a július 14-i francia Bastille-nap.
- Késő júniustól kora júliusig Tahitin négynapos golfversenyt tartanak, szeptemberben pedig szörfversenyt.
- Mégis talán a legnagyobb esemény a Hawaiki Nui kenuverseny, amelyet kora novemberben tartanak: három napig tart, négy szigetet jár körbe egy 116 km-es útvonalon, kb. 6O hat fős csapat száll versenybe. A csónakok dobszóra, TV-kamerák kereszttüzében futnak be a célba.
